FURNITURE CASE STUDY
Project Description
The Dulux Academy is based at the Headquarters of Akzonobel Decorative paints in Slough, who own the Dulux paint brand. More than 4000 trainees a year are expected to benefit from the academy, in a co-ordinated attempt to overcome the skills shortage across the industry.
Sarah worked closely with Vickie Mather, the Dulux academy Manager to transform the existing drab space into the 21st century and where all students could feel they were working in somewhere a little less like your average training centre. Several factors had to be considered along the way; the alignment with the newly refurbished main building on site, the soon to be "Customer Experience Zone" due for completion early 2016, and of course, the budget! A varied selection of furniture was chosen, including a stunning USM Haller shelving unit to exhibit artefacts for the 90+ history of Dulux.
The Fritz Hansen Ro & Fri chairs upholstered in a beautiful selection of Kvadrat of Denmark fabrics sat under "drop" lighting from next lighting in Germany. The simplicity of the Wagga tables and benching made break-times much more enjoyable, whilst the Fritz Hansen Classic Series 7 chairs added sophistication to one of the training rooms. |
"Sarah was really helpful with the selection of furniture for our new Dulux academy. She understood the brief well and found solutions that met both the practical and deign need within budget. She comes back to visit and see how things are working our over a year since her team delivered the project. spin offer a very high quality services and I can very much recommend them for all the services they offer."
