FURNITURE CASE STUDY
Project Description
Recommended by the team at Akzonobel, Sarah worked closely with Senior Design Manager Leanne Wood from Amazing Space on this project in 2015. Amazing Space do exactly what it says on the tin ( a Dulux tin naturally! ) they offer online consultancy to the public and offer advise on redesigning their homes.
As a newly developed brand of Dulux, their new own amazing space at Phoenix Park in Nottingham needed to house 26 “pods” – rooms that were the backbone of the business where the interior designers worked online to offer their amazing services. The team of Dulux Design Experts consider every aspect of your project, and by understanding your personal tastes and preferences they then create something unique for your space. |
The brief for the main office was to have clean lines, functional workstations with height adjustable tables for those personnel that needed to “drop” in to work on the occasional basis. GGI were chosen to supply the workstations and the Techo Sidiz task chair offered the users self adjusting ergonomic seating for all day comfort.
As well as office space on the first floor, the ground floor space needed to show off their design skills and ultimately needed that WOW factor. Obviously the paint colours used in the downstairs open plan breakout areas, and the upcoming announcement of the 2015 Dulux Colour of the Year ~ copper blush ~ played a major role in the look and feel of these spaces. |
Sterling sofas by Allermuir and the iconic Open chairs were placed on deep pile rugs, covered with cosy throws and cushions to give it that “homely feel”. Tommo chairs with black rod bases upholstered in rich velvets added to that luxurious aesthetic.
The Design team at Amazing space did just that – using clever lighting exposed ceilings and finishes to give that “industrial meets comfort” look. A clever mix of steel, laminate and wood, continued into the café and kitchen area with the Agent High Table by Lyndon Design. The project turned out even better than we had all hoped but the wall murals added on at the end really did make any visitor feel they were in an Amazing Space! |
A true team effort between the Spin design and the Amazing Space teams that brought a plethora of colour and light to a plain 90's brick building.
