Project Description
In 2015, Broadway appointed Spin to advise, source and procure some added pieces to the space, including a new meeting suite and seating area. The quality of the furniture design had to enrich the aesthetic and practical working environments of each of the newly refurbished creative workspaces while providing coherence when the spaces are considered as a whole. Planes tables from Haworth, the smart and versatile Very chair, some quirky vintage industrial stools were all supplied into this eclectic space; and once again a delight for Sarah to work on something that little bit different…
Broadway Cinema (www.broadway.org.uk) is an independent cinema in the city of Nottingham, United Kingdom. In 2006 Broadway went through a major development with funding from the National Lottery and the Arts Council. At this time the works included the world's first (and only) cinema designed Paul Smith.
In 2009, the cinema was rated as one of the 'best in the world' by Total Film magazine. After a further refurbishment in 2014, Broadway tendered for the supply of furniture including tables, desks, chairs, stools, lockers and sofas. Sarah, whilst working with her former consultancy firm in London, tendered for and was consequently awarded the project. Sarah worked closely with John Tobin, Development Director at Broadway and their design team.
